My Bathroom

My Bathroom is ALMOST done and presently is USABLE! Joe got the shower/tub plumbing done last night and said he needed me to "beta test" the tub. Ahhh, what a luxury to take a hot bath in my own new bathtub!

I am very psyched. Joe has worked hard while he's been off from work these past two weeks. Its pretty much finishing touches that need to be done. It looks so nice. When its all done I'm going to take pictures and post before and after pictures on my blog.

This is what I still need to purchase: stain for the door, shower curtain liner and hooks, small waste paper basket, tooth brush holder of some sort, towels, floor mat/rug for stepping out of the tub, a window treatment (thinking of doing roman shades) and some bubble bath!

What still needs to be done:
Door frame painted, door stained, four or five spots on the wall that need some blue touch up paint, toilet paper holder installed, robe or towel hook installed on back of door, touch up work around overhead light, decorative wall pieces hung, shower rod installed and shower liner and curtain hung, window treatment installed and hung... and that's it!

Mostly little things!

We can do it!

Okay so it wasn't done by this Christmas either, but we're darn close.

And this is the LAST home remodeling job we will attempt to do ourselves. My Uncle Kerry always told my Mom and Dad, "Hire a professional!" It was kind of a joke between them, but for us, I think it is very good advice. IF and when we ever redo our kitchen (beyond painting and refinishing cabinets) we will be hiring someone who knows what he/she is doing to do the work so it can be finished in much much less than two years. Maybe less than one year! Maybe less than 6 months??

I admire all you do it yourself re-modelers who get the job done in a timely fashion.
